Romania Animal Rescue has a wishlist of medical supplies, which provides equipment to our resident vets in Romania. These items range in price from $1.75 for a bottle of dextrose for maintaining water balance to a $3570 autoclave that sterilizes spay/neuter tools. Donors choose what they want their donation to pay for, and RAR orders and ships the items to Romania. We have just received a wonderful donation from Cold Noses Foundation to purchase an autoclave and three packs of spay tools. We would like to thank Cold Noses Foundation for their very generous gift, and would like to let you know that we will be sending these items to Dr. Pepe Stefan in our next shipment to Romania. If you would like to make a donation for other items, please visit our Wishlist. You can also join the Cold Noses Foundation group on Facebook. |

Dear RAR Friends, Well, we have a great newsletter for you to read--all good news! The dog, Ambi, found in the garbage bin in Braila with two broken legs has had three surgeries and will be adopted to the UK. The four orphaned puppies are at the shelter in Bucharest and will be sent to Holland in September for adoption. All of this thanks to YOU! Maria from the Holland charity, Roemeense Hondenforum, was in Tecuci for the monthly spay/neuter event. Dr. Pepe performed 100 spay/neuter procedures! The work in Giurgiu of free spay/neuters has continued this month. Thank you everyone for helping the animals as you have. They are very honored to have your help, and so are the vets and myself!
Nancy Janes,
President, CEO and Founder Romania Animal Rescue, Inc. Summer has set in Romania and temperatures of 100° F are registered daily, which makes the life of stray animals more difficult and dangerous as they roam for long distances in search of water and food. We the medical team continue to provide free sterilization throughout the hot season, thus preventing the birth of thousands of new helpless pups in the coming months. Starting in September, we are beginning our new project: The Veterinary Training Camp, which is dedicated to final year students and young inexperienced vets who want to learn about our state-of-the-art techniques and how to set up field clinics. This training camp will make a great difference by improving the medical standards in Romania and allowing us to train more vets in a shorter period of time. Thanks to you, our dear friends, Romania Animal Rescue will offer grants to as many vets as possible that once trained will return to their hometowns and share the knowledge they received from us. Please continue to support our projects as they are the best animal welfare projects in Romania that make the most impact with little resources. God bless you all,
Dr. Aurelian Stefan, D.V.M
![]() We would like to announce the launch of a new website, VeterinaryTrainingCamp.com. This camp gives veterinary surgeons and nurses an opportunity to improve their surgical and anesthesia skills.
"I felt his little body that was almost unbearable to touch because it was just bones, and I started crying. Too much sadness in Romania. Mary, who was volunteering from Washington at the Craiova Spayathon, saw that I was in tears with this little one in my arms, and said, 'I'll adopt him, Nancy!' The sweetest words I have ever heard! Thank you, Mary and Bill, for adopting Tony and for putting 12 pounds on him!"--Nancy Janes More good news! Marelena Ganea told Nancy that Alma is doing well and is almost ready to go up for adoption! (Alma is the dog we told you of last month that was hit by a car and found by a Good Samaritan.) Dr. Pepe performed surgery on her elbow and gave her good food. She responded quite well to all of this tender loving care! Her head trauma is much better too. Thank you to everyone who helped us to help Alma!
Adapostul Fiducia
We have been tasked with meeting two donation challenges from GlobalGiving. This fundraising company meets 20 standards for charitable accountability, according to the Better Business Bureau.
Cold Noses Foundation for the donation of an autoclave and three spay packs to RAR! Roemeense Hondenforum for their help with the Tecuci spay/neuter program, and for coming to document our program in Tecuci with a photographer! And many endless thanks to all of you who have helped us so much by saving the little Braila dog and the orphaned puppies! Thank you for your help for our spay/neuter programs throughout Romania, and thank you for your donations to help expand our educational program! Thank you everyone for supporting the animals!

Dr. Aurelian was in Moreni holding a simultaneous spay event for 25 dogs there for Anda Popescu, while his brother Dr. Pepe and the gang were doing a great spay/neuter in Tecuci! We will return to Braila (Ambi's hometown) to do as many spay/neuter procedures as possible in that city in August or September.
Lelia Creanga from Iasi will be traveling to Craiova to teach personnel there on how to start an in-school education program, per the Mayor of Craiova's request! She will have 1000 of the educational booklets to give them to start the program in the Fall! So, this will mean that RAR has educational programs in two Romanian cities, Iasi and Craiova! Now we need to start one in Tecuci as well!
