![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dear Romania Animal Supporters, It is terrible to relate this story of animal cruelty in Braila, Romania. We have been told that this young dog was found in a Braila garbage can with her two hind legs broken. The dog was rescued by a local resident, but she needs special veterinary care. One leg can be placed in a cast, but the other one needs to be set with rods and screws. The cost of this care is $500. Please donate what you can. Together, we can get this dog mended and on the road to recovery. Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Our second story involves a mama dog that was raising a litter of four puppies at a gas station in Romania. Unfortunately the mama dog was hit by a car earlier this week, and died. A local resident, Alexandra, was able to rescue the four puppies. She contacted Nancy Janes and Romania Animal Rescue for help in finding a place for these puppies, funding their vaccinations, de-parasiting, and then asked if we could find a home for these little ones somewhere. Luckily RAR has found a shelter to keep the puppies where they will be safe. The cost of boarding the puppies at this very nice shelter is quite expensive, but we need to make sure the puppies are not exposed to parvo and other life-threatening diseases, as they are only one month old. (The pups are currently at Alma Vet until they receive their vaccines and can be moved to the shelter.) We have just found a place for adoption for all four of these puppies in Holland, too! But we need help in funding the cost of their veterinary treatments (including spay/neuter before they are adopted in Holland), shelter costs, and their trip to their new homes in Holland in September. The total cost of veterinary care, boarding at the shelter, and transport for these puppies is $1700. Please donate what you can. We appreciate your help in these two matters. RAR funds are set up primarily for spay/neuter so that no more puppies will be born to be thrown into trash bins, live at gas stations to give birth to more puppies, or be run over. Any help is greatly appreciated, as the living deserve our help as much as the unborn do. Thank you! Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I wish all of you the very best, and thank you for your support. Nancy Janes, President, CEO and Founder
