When Anna Marie was struck by a car in Galati, Romania, she was left to die on the side of the road. By chance, Nancy Janes, founder of Romania Animal Rescue Inc., was working in Galati when she found the eleven-month old puppy. Anna Marie was partially paralyzed with a broken back.
Nancy transported the puppy back to her ranch in California, and fitted her with a "wheel chair" that supports the dog’s hind legs. It took Anna Marie a couple of weeks to get used to the device and build up strength in her front legs to move around. Now she can run and play with the other dogs at the ranch.
